If you are an Indian company with a substantial exposure to the Chinese market, you should check out these slide decks. They are a treasure trove of hard to get, easily digestable information about the Red Dragon. With the Olympics having been the success that they were, China is clearly the flavour of the season. This resource should come in handy.

The first deck is a deep dive into the Chinese internet industry; it has tons of data about internet & mobile penetration, marketshares, revenue growths, ad & marcom spends - the works. Have you heard about JingJing & Chacha? From the deck “…..JingJing & Chacha are China’s virtual cops who can walk, bike or drive across the screen every 30 minutes , warning Internet users to stay away from “illegal Internet content” and “bad websites”. • 85% of Chinese Citizens approve Internet Censorship. • 93% of internet users reports they consider much of internet content to be unsuitable for children. •Over 4 years of tracking user reaction, trust in the reliability of online content has fallen by one-half, from 52% in 2003 to 26% today. Source : Pew Internet…” The deck has been put together by Trendspotting - a US based trends discovery platform.
